"The greatest gift you can give to yourself and the world is the development of your own unique potential" author unknown
Jewse Academy is a Louisville KY-based school that was founded in 2023. We saw a need for improving the life skills and domestic education of the community and decided to “each one teach one”. While most people today are usually afforded the opportunity to get a formal education, the life skills classes that are required for day-to-day living have almost completely vanished. Remember Home Economics class, Shop class, or Automotive class? Chances are if you were born after 1980 you have no clue what we’re talking about. LOL, it is ok. Public schools used to teach cooking, sewing, woodwork, automotive work, childcare, home budgeting, etc. We have a goal to extend our courses, eventually including those and many more, but for now, we are beginning with our Seamstress program.
The ultimate goal is to afford people in the community the opportunity to learn a different skill set that could lead to additional income for their family. Income, either by personal creativity and selling their own products or through the ability to handle a task yourself that you would normally have to pay for. Most Educational Institutions teach and train employees. We will hopefully be teaching our community’s future entrepreneurs and business leaders. So, visit our SKILLS page to view our active classes and REGISTER TODAY!!

Born and raised, right here in Louisville KY, I grew up the daughter of a Seamstress and a Carpenter. So as you can imagine most of the furniture in our home was made by my father and anything made out of cloth, was made by my mother. Needless to say, I grew up in an “if you can do it yourself, DO IT YOURSELF” talented household.
I am now a momma bear of 2 children and 1 fur baby. My youngest you will meet as she will most likely be by my side every day.
I graduated High School and then went on to procure 2 Medical degrees, which to my dismay, I found lacked fulfillment for me. So, instead, I decided to do what I have always done best, which is to teach and sew.
I began my sewing journey in High School, with the help of my mother. The first thing I ever made was a cross-stitched sewn pillow. Teaching Sewing classes began when I joined my church in 2014. I Simultaneously ran 2 classrooms at once, ages 3-12 for 7 years and taught sewing classes for the women. I have a strong passion for children and teaching.
I have sewn for companies, weddings, graduations, proms, family photos, mommy & me outfits, and funerals; and now I want to turn my passion into a life skill for you or your student! A profitable skill that will last a lifetime. “Teach a man to fish”…..
